The Wallace Family has finally decided to enter cyberspace. We will try to post some fun, informational updates on what is going on in our lives. We will recap all of the exciting events of our summer in an upcoming blog. Right now we are prepping for the new school year, which begins tomorrow. Abby begins first grade in Mrs. Mathiason's class and Elizabeth will take on Kindergarten with the help of Mrs. Witgenstein. Both are very excited (and a little nervous). Since Abby is a picky eater and does not like many items on the school lunch menu, she was nervous that she might not be able to keep track of her lunch box at school. This was a pretty big concern, so she was relieved to find that other kids are planning on taking sack lunches to school also and it is a simple process to store your lunch box during class. Elizabeth is still learning how to read, so she looks forward to some assistance in that category. She also is really excited about making a ton of new friends. (Plus she has heard a rumor about making a gingerbread man on the second day of class. This fact will be interjected in pretty much every conversation she enters.) She lost her first two teeth this week. I just returned from Santa Cruz where I facilitated a week-long training for second year employees at the international public accounting firm where I work. It was exhausting. I also got to stop by and see my old mission buddy, Jared. We went to a Raiders vs. Rams preseason NFL game Friday night. It was fun, but I still prefer a good old BYU home game in LES Stadium. (We are headed to Utah next weekend for the season opener against Arizona.) Maxwell and Meg are just plugging along trying to build up neck muscles sufficient to support their gargantuan cheeks. Max rolled over for the first time. We are hoping he will remain immobile as long as possible, because he already shows signs of being a wild man.
